The saroz belongs to the sarangi family. This antique example is at least 80 years old and possibly comes from Jalalabad in Nuristan or Balochstan. This folk instrument is found in North India, Pakistan and Afghanistan.

This instrument has been sold to the Music Instrument Museum in Phoenix, Arizona, USA
